How to Get Organized Before a Networking Event

There are many things to organize before a meeting with a retail customer, potential retail customer or a potential distributor. You likely have a briefcase, filebox, bag or traveling container for all of the items you take to a meeting. Here are a few additional things to make sure you organize before your meeting:
1) Do a quick review of the your materials. If you haven't looked at them since the last time you used them during an appointment, you want to make sure all notes, papers, names, etc have been removed so the person you are meeting doesn't feel like they are viewing leftovers or someone else's presentation.
2) Do a full confirmation of the date, time and location. There are too many missed meetings due to these 3 critical items being overlooked. One of them alone can be the cause of a missed meeting.
3) Get a map and phone number if you are not familiar with the meeting location. Again there are enough variables when you are meeting a prospect, that you don't want the reason for someone to say no is that you were late or unable to find the location.
4) Check traffic before you leave. If you live in a city where traffic can get backed up or delay you, check traffic earlier than when you normally would need to leave to know whether you need to leave early or take an alternate route.

Organize your Phone Calls

When it's time to make phone calls and connect with your retail customers, your downline and your prospects, do you set a pattern, organization and intention before you start to call?

A simple checklist for topics to cover or questions to ask can keep you focused on your purpose and keep the phone time on target. Your receiver will appreciate knowing there's a purpose and feel the power of your confident conversation!

There's a wonderful question to ask at the beginning that has two parts:
Is this a good time to chat for a few minutes?
Great, can we chat for 10 - 15 minutes?
(then set a time for yourself so maintain the integrity of time and your statement! It also helps you continue to make progress on your call tasks!)
